Disruption from 6 May 2021 (Thu) to 13 May 2021 (Tue)

We wish to inform users that your access to EBSCOhost ebooks may be impacted between 6 May and 13 May due to a system upgrade. The scheduled system upgrade will suspend downloads of full ebooks hosted on the platform to read offline. However, you will still be able to read EBSCOhost ebooks online, as well as download ebook chapters. Any ebooks already downloaded from EBSCOhost prior to the upcoming system upgrade will continue to be available to you.

All services are expected to be back to normal on 14 May 2021 (Wed).

With effect from 7 September 2020, the NIE Library will be opening from 8.30 am to 8.00 pm on weekdays and 8.30 am to 5.00 pm on Saturdays.

We are delighted to inform you that the NIE Library will reopen on 3 August 2020.

With effect from 3 August 2020, the new operating hours are:

• Mon - Fri: 8.30am to 6.00pm
• Sat/Sun/PH: Closed

The Bookmark Café and the Photocopying & Printing Office will also be open.

Please take note of the following when visiting library premises:

1. Adhere to prevailing safe distancing regulations.
2. All library patrons are required to wear a face mask within the library premises.
3. Comply with limit set on the number allowed in the library at any one time. Entry will be denied once limit is reached.

We wish to inform users that ProQuest Ebook Central will be unavailable on 28 June 2020 (Sun) from 12am to 3am to conduct scheduled maintenance. The scheduled maintenance will suspend access to all ebooks hosted on the platform.

Disruption on 16 May 2020 (Sat).

We wish to inform users that Wanfang Data will temporarily suspend the operations of its three websites on 16 May 2020 (Sat) to conduct server maintenance. The temporary suspension will affect services of the related databases of journals, dissertations, conference papers, local gazetteers, patents, standards, business information and technology information.

All services are expected to resume in the evening of 16 May 2020 (Sat).

We thank you for your understanding as we implement precautionary measures to safeguard the NIE community.

Following the MOH advisory on safe distancing, the NIE Library has adopted more precautionary measures to

help limit the spread of #covid19.

Here are the latest on the precautions we have taken:

• Reduced total number of seats with a safe distance of at least 1 metre between all seats.
• Queue markers at Level 2 Service Point and Bookmark Café
• Hand sanitisers are placed at all public terminals and Bookmark Café
• Enhanced cleaning of frequently used places and surfaces
• Closure of meeting spaces such as Learning PODS, Research Commons, Staff Lounge and SMART Room
• Compulsory tapping in and out of the Library
